GIFAR is currently seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and engaged individuals to serve on the Greater Idaho Falls Association of REALTORS® (GIFAR) Board of Directors.

GIFAR is seeking qualified candidates for the following 2026 positions:

President Elect (President 1/1/2027)
Secretary Treasurer Elect (Secretary Treasurer 1/1/2027)
GIFAR Board Director (5) (1/1/2026-12/31/2028)
IR State Director (1/1/2026-12/31/2028)
This Election Packet includes an election timeline, candidate application(s) and a full description of the duties and obligations for each available position.

Election Policy and Applications Packet

WHO ELECTS WHOM?
The President Elect will be elected from eligible candidates by the Board of Directors only. The President Elect automatically advances to President the year after.
Secretary Treasurer Elect will be elected from eligible candidates by the Nominating committee* from applications submitted by the Membership. The Secretary Treasurer Elect automatically advances to Secretary Treasurer the year after.
Board Directors will be elected from eligible candidates by the Nominating committee* from applications submitted by the Membership.

June 30th-Notice Of Open Positions
July 14th-Official Notice of Open Positions and Link to Application
September 5th-Nomination/Application Deadline
Sept 22nd-Official Notice of Candidates Published
October 7th-Online and In-House Voting Begins
October 17th-Online and In-House Voting Ends
November 7th- Announcement of Elected Officers
January 1: Effective date for all GIFAR elected officers to take office.

Nominating Committee (Chaired by the President)

The Nominating Committee shall consist of four (4) REALTOR® Members, plus the current President who will serve as Chair. The Nominating Committee shall be appointed by the President and ratified by the Board of Directors at the June BoD meeting.

The Nominating Committee shall direct the AE to circulate the open positions with position descriptions, applications, and consent to serve forms to all Members electronically. Once applications are received, candidates are interviewed by the Committee and will recommend a slate of candidates to the Board of Directors for approval. This is the Committee’s opportunity to interview the candidates and their qualifications on behalf of the entire Membership in choosing the best candidates to slate for the position based upon their process. No preference is to be given to current Board of Director Members who are running for re-election or for a new position on the Board of Directors.
